Adino has signed a joint venture agreement for the production of hotmelt adhesives with its Chinese partner Listen Adhesives , the market leader in China for EVA edge-banding adhesives.
The joint venture is the continuation of a partnership which started in 2018 for the production of EVA hotmelt in Foshan.
With its targeted production capacity of 10,000 tonnes of PUR and 30,000 tonnes of EVA hotmelts in the first phase, the joint venture will enable Adino to extend its presence from Asia-Pacific into other markets such as Middle East, Americas and Europe.
Adino will provide the formulation as well as the production know-how within the joint venture, alongside the marketing, application know-how and the distribution network.
The newly built factory on 30,000m2 land in Shandong has been completed by Listen at the end of 2023 and the production start is targeted for Q3 2024. All machinery will be delivered and installed in June or July 2024. The opening date is set for 9 Sep 2024.
“The total capacity of the plant is 50,000 for PUR and 100,000 for EVA hotmelt, and our ambitious target is to fully utilise it by 2030,” said Wong, founder and CEO of Listen.
“But the ambition will not stop at the woodworking business in midterm also other industries will be added to the customer base of Adino and Listen,” concluded Dieter Steinert , founder and CEO of Adino Group.
